On the practical plus side, I've heard that the State of Alaska usually has quite a few openings for private pilots, with decent money, good hours, and good benefits. I tend to do things that are a PITA less than those that are easy, even if the PITA thing is more fun. If it's *way* more fun, though, that might be enough motivation. For example, it might be enough fun to take flight lessons that I'll actually save up $150 a crack, drive my large ass to Superior, and cram it into a tiny plane. We'll see...
